I took a sip of the sacred brew and sat in front of a large window gazing into the sunset, absorbed in the contemplation of my daily escapades. At this moment, in coincidence or synchronicity, I do not know, I heard a gecko chirping as it walked into my field of view, creating a silhouette against the glowing orb of the setting sun. I felt a strange sensation. Fractal-esque patterns began to emerge in my visual field, delicate intricacies weaved through my thoughts, the land, my perceptions, the sky, blended and braided through all that is past and all that is to come. That's when I knew I had arrived! ; the in-between dimension of the eternal present.

DreaMTime | Nuwan Shilpa Hennayake

DreaMTime is a visual invocation of the primordial state where perception dissolves into myth and the boundary between inner and outer worlds disappears. Layered with fractal eyes, mirrored landscapes, and spectral silhouettes, the composition unfolds like a living hallucination—part memory, part prophecy. The horizon glows with liminal fire, suggesting the threshold between waking consciousness and the ancestral dreamspace from which all stories emerge.

This work reflects Dreamtime not as a cultural artifact of the past, but as a perpetual psychic dimension—an ever-present field where nature, spirit, and observer co-arise. Repetition becomes rhythm, symmetry becomes chant, and vision becomes a recursive act of remembering. The silhouetted creature in motion evokes the dream-body: free from gravity, language, and linear time.
